Beautiful Furniture, Thoughtfully Designed

Welcome

Welcome to westwoodbaby.com. I'm Scott Bennett, and I am the lead furniture designer and engineer for Westwood Design. (I also designed the web site, and convinced the boss to let me put a blog up.) This blog is a way for us to share product news and details with you. More than that, though, we will also be using it to give some insight into our design, manufacturing, and QC processes. For instance, when I'm working on a new product, I intend to post some of the initial sketches and concepts and get some feedback in real time. We think this kind of transparency and availability is a first for this industry, and we are excited to try it out!

Just wondering if you would be adding a bookcase to the Cypress Point collection. I have just ordered the Chest and I am struggling to find a bookcase that would match the wood. Thanks

What is your suggestion for finding "in stock" items? We are looking for the chest of drawers in the Stratton series, Virginia Cherry and it seems most places will take 2-3 months to order.

Hi-

You won't find any retailer stocking Stratton at the moment, simply because it's gone as soon as anyone gets it.

As of right now, there are a small number of chests in stock in our Salt Lake warehouse, and NJ should be back in stock in a couple days. However, those will immediately go back out to fill existing orders (the ones in Salt Lake are probably already gone). More Stratton arrives in another couple of weeks after that.

A 2-3 month lead time on an order placed today is probably about right, just because almost everything we are getting before then is already spoken for. Sorry that's not much help.

Best Regards,
Scott

It seems maybe Buy Buy Baby and other stores just give bad info and you can't take blame if that is what is happening. I was told 8-10 weeks on Cypress Pt and we are passing that now. Maybe Buy Buy just wants the sale? They also will not allow you to just leave a deposit, the order gets paid in full at order date which means they hold your money for all the time it takes you to manufacture.... 2-3 months plus is a long time for your money to be out with no product and I think that is most people's frustration. They should make you pay a smaller deposit to put some security on your purchase. It just feels like at this point my furniture may never arrive and we'll be out the 2k not the store since they'be been paid in full for all this time. I trust you are sending but when they say 8-10 weeks you assume 10 weeks is the absolute longest.
